What is Dysport?

Dysport is an injectable neuromodulator. This means it temporarily blocks receptors in the muscle from receiving movement signals that cause lines and wrinkles to form. Dysport is made from a purified and weakened form of botulinum toxin type A, and can be safely and effectively injected into the muscles of the forehead. When these muscles are relaxed, wrinkles that appear as a result of normal expressions are reduced. This can also prevent wrinkles from further deepening over time.

How is Dysport Treatment Done?

Every patient’s tolerance for injections is different, so we choose to supply a topical anesthetic for comfort during the process. Once this has been administered, a small and thin needle is used to place the product within the individual muscles of the forehead that cause wrinkles. This can take multiple, small injections depending on your anatomy and goals, but a normal treatment session takes around 15 minutes.

Results

Dysport does not require any downtime, although some patients experience temporary bruising or redness at the injection site. You should avoid touching or massaging the treatment area, as this can cause the product to spread to unwanted muscles. Dysport can require a few days to take full effect and can last for three to four months.
